Progress this week...October 18-22

A lot of progress was made this week on our "new" front porch!  The deck has been framed and now the roof preparations for the porch are being made.

To help orient you, here's a picture of the "front" of the house, the view coming up the driveway.  You can see from a distance where work is going on for the new porch:

Here are the workmen standing on the little roof above the Oak Room...at this point, they have removed the window in Audubon in preparation for raising the roof a bit which they have to do in order to put on the porch roof.  There will eventually be two new windows here, but they will be shorter to accomodate the roof's height.

Now they're building up the roof over the Oak Room!

The weather has been pretty chilly, but our contractor and his small crew don't seem to mind.  At least they have a great view from up there!

Soon to appear...roofers!  Several sections of the overall roof need to be replaced.  The shingles are here, and the roofers have been waiting for a stretch of dry weather!  They are due here tomorrow...
